Is Your Body Image Stunting Your Biz? 4 Easy Steps to Boost Your Body Image and Your Biz!

Hey Dearest Entrepreneuresse,

Are you hiding your body in your business?

Is your not-so-happy body image getting in the way of making your videos?

Yeowwwwww! I totally understand!

That’s why I find it is sooooo liberating to “Dive In” and Shift that massively deflating mental downer so you can show up in your high-frequency glory that goes way beyond the size and shape of your body!!

Can I get a Yes Ma’am??!!

I certainly haven’t always been able to do this though and still run into my own body image speed bumps. Let’s just say I’ve gone through a deep learning ‘curve’ with embracing my “curves” and I have done 2 things that have worked like a charm!

  1. I have done a lot of body awareness work to dismantle that protective patterning that is hard-wired to hide my curves.
  2. And I have had the good fortune of working with a transformational, brand stylist, Sybil Henry, who helped me understand my body shape, in addition to helping me dress for my body shape and brand style!!

I believe it is very important to shift out of body image non-acceptance mode because it actually constricts your energy and message on video!!!

If you struggle with any of this, did you know that it could be impacting your business too?

Absolutely! When you aren’t comfortable embracing your wonderfulness and being at peace in your body, then it will infiltrate your energy and eat away at your authenticity in your business videos.

I used to try to not be a pear shape before I even knew that I was a pear shape!  This was utterly futile and got me no-where as there was nothing I could do about it!  It wasn’t until I learned about the 5 different body shapes that I realized that I needed to learn to love my curves.

I also learned that each body shape has it’s advantages and that pear shaped bodies are actually very desirable to curve lovers.  I had thought that some body shapes were simply not as good as others, mainly, MY body shape.  So, this was helpful for me to learn.

But then I had to uproot some deeper fears of showing my curves.  There was a lot of fear, actually, of getting too much sexual attention and there was shame in there, that I had never voiced.   My long standing embodied movement practice served me well as I connected to the sensations in my body and addressed each fear and shameful thought.

This is a practice that I use with my clients to work through visibility fears.  It is profound and helps you permanently rewire these very inhibitive fears and self judgments.

I was able to accept my pear shape rather after a short while once I got the education about it and I took the time to identify the underlying fears.  All those years of feeling my body as I moved in all different shapes and tempos, helped me shift into accepting my body rather than reject it as I had done in highschool and throughout my twenties.

4 Easy Steps to Boost Your Body Image and get into Body-luv Mode:

  1. Find out what your body shape is!  There is pear, rectangle, inverted triangle, apple and hourglass.
  2. Wear clothes that suit your body shape- that accentuate your positive features eg. slim legs, small waist, hourglass shape, long neck, etc…
  3. Wear brighter colors, so that you aren’t hiding behind black, brown, and dark colors.  Keep those colors to cover the areas you don’t want to accentuate- like large hips for us pear shapes.
  4. Do fun movement that you love and FEEL the sensations inside your body as you move! Check out my free video series to learn how to feel your body as you move it in different ways!  This practice will help you connect and appreciate your body.

There are a few more steps here that are experiential.  But this is a great beginning.  I want to support you in getting out of  body image shame and into feeling authentic AND glamorous in front of the camera!
